Floorball Equipment
The Ball

The playing ball, or "floorball", is a hollow plastic ball characterized by 26 equidistant holes. Official game balls are white in color, and have an additional 1516 tiny dimples that help reduce friction and lower air resistance. Although floorball balls are incredibly light, their ergonomic design allows them to be shot at speeds in excess of 100 km/h!
Floorball Sticks

Floorball is played using a composite-fiber stick with a plastic blade. These sticks are shorter than traditional hockey sticks; adult stick lengths range from 90-105cm. If you're trying to decide which height is good for you, a good rule of thumb is that your stick should come a few centimetres above your belly button.
According to the International Floorball Federation:
- The curve on a Floorball blade must not exceed 3cm in height.
- A stick cannot be more than 105cm in height.
Goaltender Gear
Unlike hockey, Floorball goaltenders don’t carry a stick, and play mostly on their knees. Goaltenders are the only players permitted to play the ball with their hands; they can catch, deflect or throw the ball using any part of their body.
For equipment, Goaltenders must wear a facemask at all times. A goaltenders can wear thin gloves; thick soccer-style gloves are not permitted.
Floorball Shoes
Floorball players typically wear indoor sport shoes, designed for quick lateral movement and stability. Most floorball equipment manufacturers distribute their own brand of floorball-specific shoes, but any squash, raquetball or handball shoe usually does the trick.
