Floorball Air Hooking ("Zorro")
Air Hooking
Air hooking, also known as "zorro", is the art of controlling the ball on your stick in the air. The best air hookers can keep the ball in the air for minutes at a time; it can even be performed in games to score goals!
Preparing Your Stick Blade
Air hooking takes time, practice, and above all, an adequately curved stick. Some stick blades come pre-equipped with an air hooking pocket, but you can adjust your stick yourself by following these steps:
- Heat your blade using either a hair dryer or hot (near-boiling) water.
- Press a floorball ball into the tip of the blade, and curl the outside edges of the blade inward.
- Cool the blade using cold water while holding the ball inside the pocket.
- Remove the ball, and warm the blade again. Bend the edges inward more by prying against the grill of the stick using a knife or similar object.
- Cool the blade, again while holding the ball inside.
